Halloween is quickly approaching, which means that it is time to answer that age old question: what is the most popular candy in every state? This year, Bid-On-Equipment took on the task of surveying over 2,000 people in residential neighborhoods across the country to find out!
In the lead was Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, which came back as the most popular in 12 different states. Following suit were regular M&M’s that were voted as the best candy in 8 states. Third place went to the unexpected contender Milk Duds, which managed to win over 4 different states. Among the least favorite candies were Airheads, Nerds, SweeTarts, and Gummy Worms, which were each voted as the best in only one state a piece.
Bid-On-Equipment took advantage of this opportunity to find out a few more things about Halloween. According to the study, the best time to ask for treats is between 6 PM and 9 PM. If you’re over 15 years old, you might wanna hang up the costume as many deemed it too old to trick or treat. Finally, parents on average spent around $35 on halloween candy.
